It is with utmost excitement that I welcome you to join us for the 8th anual session of
Gündoğdu Model United Nations. I am honored to serve as the President of a conference
that embodies traditions of education and excellence, and I could not be more excited to
host you at our conference. Over the three days of GMUN, delegates from different cities
and countries will discuss and solve pressing global issues, engage in diplomacy, and safely
interact with their peers.
I recommend that delegates with little experience with Model United Nations simulations
read the entire document carefully, as it will provide a thorough introduction to the
dynamics of an actual committee session. Familiarity with the flow of the committee will
allow a new delegate to jump into debate immediately upon arrival at the conference.
All the focal points of the committees have to be understood carefully. Please bear in mind
that study guides are not a comprehensive total review of the issue, and it merely serves as a
path through which every delegate can start researching. The course of the committee will
require agile reactions to every event, so it is in the best interest of every member of the
committee if you were to complement this study guide with other resources and develop a
comprehensive understanding of the issue. It is my hope that the experiences had during our
conference will inspire future leadership, diplomacy, and knowledge that will stay with you
for long after our gavel marks the end of closing ceremonies.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
promotes peace and international cooperation, using the UN’s Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for its projects. In particular, this
committee will focus on SDGs 8, 12, and 16 (Decent Work and Economic Growth,
Responsible Consumption and Production, and Peace, Justice, and Strong
Institutions)
UNODC
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is a specialized agency of the
United Nations that plays a crucial role in the global effort to combat illicit drugs,
crime, and terrorism. The UNODC works closely with governments, civil society, and
international organizations to develop and implement policies and programs to
reduce the supply and demand for drugs, prevent crime, and promote justice and the
rule of law.
UNSC
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the six principal organs of the
United Nations (UN) and is charged with ensuring international peace and security,
recommending the admission of now UN members to the General Assembly and
approving any changes to the UN Charter.
UNHRC
BM İnsan Hakları Konseyi (UNHRC), amacı dünya çapında insan haklarını desteklemek
ve savunmak olan bir Birleşmiş Milletler organıdır. Uluslararası toplumdaki rolü, insan
hakları ihlallerini incelemek ve bunların nasıl ele alınması gerektiği konusunda
tavsiyelerde bulunmaktır.

YALAN DÜNYA
Cihangir’de kapı komşusu olan iki ailenin, birbirinden tamamen farklı etnik yapıları ile
yaşadıkları komik hikâyeleri ele alan bir dizi. Delegeler karakterlerin rollerini ele alıp
divanlarının vereceği çeşitli krizlere çözüm bulmaya çalışacak.
KOVAN
2.Tükçe kriz komitemiz olan KOVAN’da delegeler, mensubu oldukları kovanlarında;
bir tarafta 2113 yılında gerçekleşecek olan kıyametin etkilerini durdurmak ve indanlığı
tekrardan canlandırmak isteyen cadılar diğer tarafta ise tam tersi düşünceyle hareket
eden cadıların kendi içindeki bölünmeyle yaşanacak savaşlarında başrol olarak yer
